Periodontal Surgery

Periodontal surgery is a specialized way to treat gum disease (periodontitis) that has gotten so bad that non-surgical methods no longer work. The goal of these surgeries is to fix and grow back damaged gum and bone tissue, make pockets smaller, and stop further damage. Some common types of periodontal surgery are:

  • Flap Surgery (Pocket Reduction Surgery): Lifts the gums to get rid of deep plaque and tartar, then moves the gum tissue back into place to make cleaning easier.
  • Gum Grafts: Fixes receding gums by putting in grafts to replace lost tissue and protect tooth roots while making the smile look better.
  • Bone Grafts and Regeneration: Fixes bone loss by using graft materials to help new bone grow.
  • Crown Lengthening: Changes the shape of the gums and bone so that more of the tooth structure can be seen for cosmetic or restorative reasons.

These procedures can help you keep your natural teeth, stop infections, and make your smile look better and work better overall.
