Cosmetic Gum Surgery
These types of dental procedures improve the appearance of teeth and gums. Here are some cosmetic periodontal procedures:
- Gum Tissue Removal: Removes excess gum tissue to expose more of the tooth.
- Gum Tissue Grafting: Adds gum tissue to hide tooth roots and reverse gum recession.
- Crown Lengthening: Reshapes excess gum and bone tissue to expose more of the tooth.
- Soft Tissue Graft: Covers unattractive tooth roots and reduces gum recession
- Bone Grafting: Fuses bone from another part of the body onto the jaw to make up for bone loss
Before the procedure, you may be asked to stop taking certain medications, such as blood thinners, pain relievers, and aspirin. You may also be advised not to smoke or drink alcohol for 24 hours before the procedure.
